A stunning video clip demonstrates the second a pair of truck wheels flies into the front of a car just after they detached from a semi-trailer.
A driver is lucky to have escaped unhurt following a pair of wheels separated from an oncoming semi-trailer and smashed into his auto.
It’s estimated the two wheels would weigh close to 200kg combined, impacting the SUV at a relative velocity of 120km/h – with the incident happening on a 60km/h extend of Beach Street in Christies Seashore, South Australia, specifically outside two university campuses.
“A sedan with a a lot more sloped front end could have quickly scooped the wheel and [crashed] through the windscreen,” a single person commented.
“Just be thankful he wasn’t riding a motorcycle,” an additional wrote.
While the correct motive is not known at this stage, as the two wheels ended up even now attached to each other when they bounced into the route of the Forester, it is likely they turned detached from the trailer owing to a wheel bearing or axle failure.
Illustrations or photos posted in the video show the front of the Subaru fully demolished in advance of the entrance wheels, pretty much surely creating the vehicle off.
