The new Mophie Powerstation Go Rugged is a portable battery that does it all. It provides plentiful power for charging cellphones, jump-starting a car, boat or truck. It even has an air compressor for filling tires, which makes this one of the most versatile portable power devices available.

It’s not pocket-size like most USB batteries — it weighs 2.5 pounds and is 4.7-by-9.5-by-1.9 inches in size — but it fits inside a glove compartment for emergencies. Inside is a 55,500 MWh (megawatt-hours) internal battery, which holds its charge so it’s ready for use.

Two USB-A ports are built into the battery under a flap, which can be used for charging most any USB device. They can be used individually or simultaneously and have an 2.4-amp output.

The air compressor is what got my curiosity. My bicycle tires needed air, and it worked perfectly. A display on the side allows you to dial in the proper PSI setting to prevent overinflating. The compressor also did a great job filling inflatable pool floats.

The powerful powerstation can jump-start a full-sized truck and 12-volt vehicle batteries in seconds. Without a battery in need of a jump, I couldn’t test that, but if a jump is needed, mini cables plug into a port. A built-in LED floodlight also has an emergency red flashing light. (zagg.com, $160)

Aston Martin DB5 re-makes life-sizing Corgi diecast toy vehicle for 007 film

Fri Sep 10 , 2021
To promote the forthcoming James Bond film “No Time To Die,” Aston Martin has turned a DB5 into a existence-dimensions toy auto. In point, the automobile by itself is kind of a huge toy, one particular of the $3.6 million DB5 Goldfinger Continuation models that mimic the film vehicle with […]
